FOR TODAY June 7, 2010

Outside my window...
it is raining, yeah, it has been really hot and dry for the past several weeks. I am looking forward to the start of the rainy season.

I am thinking...
about how our first day back in school will be.

I am thankful for...
children who did their chores without being told.

From the learning rooms...
This is the beginning of our new school year. Sweetpea is starting 3rd grade and Bud is starting second grade. They both performed above grade level on the CAT, but that doesn't really translate into real life school work. We are adding piano and Spanish this year. Also, we are using a different curriculum for Bible, history and science. We are incooporating more living books and starting a history time line. So I'll keep you posted on how this goes.

From the kitchen...
Sweetpea and Bud are preparing a meal for the family every other week. So far they have shopped for and prepared Baked tuna with salad and bread, and beignets from scratch. I hope this continues to be a successful venture because I am enjoying the time off  from planning and preparing all the meals.

I am wearing...
as always, shorts, T-shirt, and no shoes.

I am creating...
um..nothing much right now.

I am going...
to complete the 30 day challenge on the wii.

I am reading...
The Shape of Mercy by Susan Meissner
The Case for Faoith by Lee Strobell
my Bible
Alaska by Tracie Peterson
and stuff for the childrens school

I am hoping...
that we have a good first day of school.

I am hearing...
roosters crow.

Around the house...
the garden is doing great with tomatoes , cucmbers, basil, and sunflowers.

One of my favorite things...
right now is clouds.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Just to get back into our routine after having several weeks off.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing
